Main screen

The mainscreen of Stamp Album Studio looks like this:




The arrows in the picture above point to the following screen items:


Page

On the page stamps can be positioned along with their texts and/or pictures. In all four edges the page contains margins in which drawing is not possible. This is depicted as the space outside the dotted line. The size of the margins can be adjusted.


Title bar

The title bar contains the file name of the album or template that is being modified. When a new album or template is created a text “Album” or “Template” with a sequence number will be shown, like “Album1”.


Main menu

By means of the main menu you have access to all functions of Stamp Album Studio.


Context menus

Besides the menu bar Stamp Album Studio also has context menus which can be activated by clicking the right mouse button on any item or object. A menu will be shown with functions that are applicable to that item or object. However, all of these functions are also available through the menu bar.


Toolbars

With the mouse you can activate common tasks quickly through the toolbars. Stamp Album Studio contains the following toolbars:

  • Standard

Opening, saving, printing, new page, performing operations and copy, cut and paste objects

  • Formatting

Modify object properties, text alignment, page navigation and zoom factor

  • Drawing

Duplicate objects and drawing of borders, lines, pictures, text and stamps

  • Layout

Layout Wizard, Align Wizard, Scan and analyse and align functions (manually or on snap lines)

  • Dimensions

Sizes of  objects

  • Pictures

Contains pictures that result from the function "Scan and analyse". You can drag images from this toolbar directly onto your album page op uw pagina slepen.


Usually all available toolbars are shown. However, you can decide to hide one or more toolbars. This can be done through the menu option View. The check mark before the name of the toolbar indicates if the toolbar will be shown. When you click the name of the toolbar the toolbar will be hidden. When you click again the toolbar will be shown again.


Besides hiding and showing toolbars, the position of the toolbars can also be changed. Usually all toolbars are fixed at the top of the screen. However, you can also position a toolbar to the left, right, top or bottom of the screen or make it a floating toolbar. Just click with the left mouse button on the double line on the left of the toolbar and drag it with the mouse to the right position.


Zoom factor

The dropdown list "Zoom factor" in the toolbar "Formatting" gives you the possibility to view and modify the album or profile on another scale. Besides the numeric scale there are also named scales like "Page Width" which shows the album on such a scale that the width of a page fits exactly into the window. The option "One Page" reduces the album in such a way that the entire page fits into the window. Finally, the option "Two Pages" reduces the album in such a way that two pages fit exactly next to one another into the window.


Rulers

With the aid of the horizontal and vertical rulers you can position objects onto a specific location and with a specific size. The ruler shows red lines for the position of selected objects and black lines for the mouse position. While moving objects the position of the objects will be shown with blue lines.


The rulers also allow you to adjust the margins of the page. Just click on the boundary between the dark and light areas on the ruler and drag the margin into the desired position.


Finally the rulers allow you to adjust the snap lines. Just click the mouse on the ruler and a snap line will be drawn, on which objects can be aligned. These snap lines can also be moved by dragging the mouse.


The ruler can be shown in millimeters as well as in inches. You can adjust this in the screen “Settings” on the tab “Misc”.


Scroll bars

The scrollbars give you the possibility to show parts of the page that are out of sight. Moreover you can scroll through all pages of the album. During scrolling the page number of the page that is visible will be shown in a highlighted box.


Status bar

The status bar shows information about the active album or task you are working on.


Grid

You can easily align objects to the grid. The objects will be positioned onto the lines and the crossings of lines of the grid. You can also hide the grid through the menu option Options and then Grid. However, you can still align objects onto the grid. If you want to disable the alignment of objects onto the grid and you want to position objects on any location use the menu option Options and Align to Grid.


Snap lines

If you want to align objects to a specific position you can make use of snap lines. You can position a snap line on a certain location by clicking once on one of the rulers. When you have created a snap line, you can indicate which objects you want to be aligned onto the snap line. Snap lines will not be printed on paper.
